Like many other small towns, our community is comprised of the familiar faces of our family and friends. In Bishop, our community may change with the times, but one thing will always remain the same: the spirit of our cherished citizens.

Visitors to Bishop aren’t excluded from the fun either. There are a number of seasonal activities and fundraisers to entertain residents and visitors alike. From Bishop High School sports to Division II College athletics at Texas A&M University – Kingsville, our community has several events that are the highlight of the calendar year including:

Christmas in the Park – As the official kick off to the holidays, the city hosts Christmas in the Park at Bishop’s City Park on the first Friday of each December. Guests can enjoy delicious food, the official lighting of the town Christmas tree, meet Santa Claus and sing carols.

Wild Horse Desert Roundup – Perhaps the biggest highlight in Bishop’s events calendar is the Wild Horse Desert Roundup during the last week of April each year. As the town’s largest fundraiser, the event is a community-wide effort featuring delicious food, games, crafts, a barbecue competition and live music at the pavilion.
